How do I set up a DMARC record in cPanel to enhance email security?

By Gbz • October 4, 2023

DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) is a protocol that combats email spoofing. It works atop SPF (Sender Policy Framework) and DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail). In cPanel, head to the “Domains” section and select “Zone Editor”. Choose the domain for DMARC setup and besides the “Add Record” button, click on “Add a DMARC Record.” Under the “Record” column’s DMARC tab, select the policy and any other optional parameters. You may also select the “RAW” tab and enter a policy you’ve generated elsewhere. Finally, click the “Save Record” button to save the DMARC record. Your chosen policy settings guide receiving servers on handling unauthenticated emails.

Good to Know: DMARC can significantly reduce the chances of your emails being seen as spam, ensuring they reach their intended recipients.
