What is the difference between a full account backup and a partial backup in cPanel?

By Gbz • November 6, 2023

In cPanel, a full account backup includes everything related to your account: all files in your home directory, email configurations, databases, and settings. It’s a complete package of your entire account at the time of backup, useful for full account transfers or recoveries.

On the other hand, partial backups in cPanel allow you to download or restore specific elements. You can choose to back up just the home directory (which contains your website files) or select individual MySQL databases. Partial backups are useful for selectively backing up your site’s root files and databases.

Good to Know: While full backups cover everything, partial backups offer more flexibility, which is ideal for limited storage or when only certain elements need backing up.
