What is the difference between domain forwarding and domain aliasing?

By Gbz • October 16, 2023

Domain forwarding (or redirection) is about sending visitors from one domain to another web address, whereas domain aliasing allows multiple domain names to show the same website content without a redirect. When a domain is aliased, the visitor remains on the original domain URL but sees the content from another domain. Both features can be managed via cPanel. If you’re unsure about which to use, our support team can provide guidance.

Good to Know: Domain aliasing is useful when you have multiple domain names and want them all to show the same site without needing separate hosting for each one.
